so i hand-wrote my parents a letter today....do u know how long its been since ive sat down and written a letter....forever! well, minus my penpals in ireland....but yeah....it was cool.  and it brought me to this....

i miss my grandma in ireland OH, SO MUCH!!  she was an AMAZING woman....like i just can't describe it.  i wish so much that my friends could have met her...and meet my family over there...its just an undescribable experience.  I'm so glad my dad is from Ireland, even though ive only gotten to see that side of the family 6-7 times...im still VERY close to them....and i love experiencing a new culture and becoming part of that.  I'm so glad my mom - like many parents - grew up on a farm, i LOVE going out to the farm and working.  I love family time and harvest time and the bitching/arguing time we have...its just awesome.  Im so glad i was given the chance at soccer for 8 years, ice skating for 4 years, skiing for 2 years, piano for 6 years, voice for 3 years, band for 7 years, choir for 6 years.  i met SOOOOO many people through those and i love it...i still keep in contact w/ some today!  i'm so glad i was raised Catholic - its such a HUGE part of me right now....w/o my faith, id be no where.  I'm so glad i decided on SDSM&T...ive met some GREAT ppl out here...im so glad i got involved in the Vote Yes campaign(i miss that, and Phil) and newman club - ive met some AMAZING ppl through both.  Angela, Newman Club president has been my saving grace!! I am really starting to LOVE my life and im soooo thankful for my parents, and their wonderful parenting skills and the chances/experiences theyve given me.  without them, i would not be the person i am today...without showchoir freshmen year....i would have never come out of my shell(as much as i hated it!!)...also freshmen year of college - the Vote Yes campain helped me come out of my shell also. i will never forget and will always love my high school friends i became close to senior year - w/o amy and junior yr in san antonio, id still be the loser sitting at home friday nights....but senior year ROCKED!! amy, mollie, whorea, joseph, jesse, p. eis, amanda, andi, crusty, dumb bitch u guys are all amazing...im just lovin life right now....and its AWESOME!!

on that note, Good Night everyone, i have daily mass tomorrow - thanks to lance hildebrandt...who is also amazing.

well friends, we meet again.........

This is the last push - please please PLEASE go out tomorrow and vote YES on Referred Law 6!!  Yes, there are no exceptions, but is a child conceived of love any different than one conceived of rape?  absolutely not!!  They both deserve the chance at life.  What if we are killing off our future president, someone that is going to lead the world to peace, the next person to find a cure for cancer?  As i heard a priest recently say - say your at home watching tv and 2 police officers knock on your door and say your father has raped a women and the penalty in this state is death.  your immediately going to defend your father saying how great of a guy he is he would never do this you can't kill him.  they say no, we're going to kill you.  its the exact same thing!!  an innocent child should NOT be condemned to die for the crime of its father.  yes it will be a hard, trying time for the mother.  but an abortion victimizes the women twice.  ABORTION HURTS WOMEN!! Most women say that by having an abortion it made the violent crime harder to deal with.  the South Dakota Task Force to Study Abortion heard testimonies from 2,000 SD women and over 95% of them said abortion had long term psychological side effects on them.  the Task Force also reported that of the 2,000 women 99% said that if abortion was illegal they wouldn't have had one.  So that back-alley abortion bullshit isn't a good arguement.  Theyre going on right now, and their going to continue to go on, as much as that sucks to hear.  find me 2 names of women who have died from back-alley abortions.  i'll give u the first one Gerri Santoro - find me a second one.  bet u can't do it. "keep abortion safe, legal, and rare"  ha- ru kidding me??!?!! safe? how can killing babies - americas future and hurting women be safe?!?!!! and y make that horrific act legal?!  and rare?! ha, u must be joking me - 3,600 babies a day?  yeah, thats rare...*rolls eyes*  my generation is being killed and its time to stop it!! The argument of the world is over populated - ha, i think not.  the entire population of the world can fit into the state of texas and each person could have over 1,000 square feet to themselves.  Embryonic stem cell research also needs to end - what has been cured from embryonic stem cell research?  nothing.  over 70 things have been cured by adult stem cell research.  Abortion is never the answer - try adoption.  "well, there are alot of kids in foster homes that jump from home to home being abused and neglected"  wrong. 4 out of 5 children in foster homes aren't available for adoption.  more than likely they are waiting for their parent to be a suitable mother/father to them.  The life of the mother.  doctors will be able to treat the women with chemotherapy and radiation or anyother medical treatment needed.  only if the baby dies in the process, but the doctor MUST take steps to save the life of both the mother and the baby.  "It's the mothers choice and her right to choose"  her right to choose to kill a living, functioning human life?  why is it that when a murder kills a pregnant woman he gets charged for murder of both the mother, and the unborn baby but nothing happens to the mother or the abortionist performing the abortion.  "It's not a life" life begins at conception.  scientists have proven that.  at 18 days the heart begins to beat.  18 days - thats a little over 2 weeks after conception.  at 42 days brain waves are recorded.  at 8 weeks all body systems are present.  how can u say thats not a human life?   "if this ban passes it will cost SD millions of dollars in court"  lawyers have already volunteered to fight this case for free and there is already a fund to college donations to pay the cost of defending this ban.  abortion needs to be stopped as a form of birth control.  over 85% of abortions are for 'convenience' of the mother becuase the baby came at the wrong time in her life.  well, theres an easy fix to that - dont' have sex.  condoms aren't 100% effective, neither is the birth control pill - which causes other side effects as well.  and 48% of abortions are repeat abortions - which says that women ARE in fact using abortion as birth control.  1 out of every 3 babies conceived are aborted.  1 out of every 3!!!! where are the unborn babies rights?  why should he or she die becuase he/she 'wasn't planned'?

Remember:
a vote yes is a vote for life
a vote no is a vote for abortion

Please South Dakota - Vote YES on Referred Law 6!!

ya know what?  you did scare me....you made me nervous....you pissed me off....but u didn't win and its NOT happening again!!!!

i am no longer afraid to stand up for what i believe in.  i AM wearing/displaying my vote yes stuff PROUDLY til the election....talk shit about me, behind my back or to my face....i dont' care....i am NOT letting someone censor me cuz im scared of what their capable of doing.  what kind of person am i if i let something little, or even big - as we all encountered today - bother me so much taht i, for a split second thought about quitting and stop wearing my vote yes gear?  not a good one...i am a proud prolife activist....and damn it im seeing this through til the end....WHEN WE WIN ON NOVEMBER 7!!!!!!!!!

VOTE YES FOR LIFE ON 6!!

I am proud to say GAP went well on our campus.  Healthy Families was also there tabling and it sparked some really good discussions.  I know for a fact it changed hearts, while yes we had some interesting protesters - who marched down the hill holding 'vote yes for sodomy' 'go anal or go home' 'i stand behind sodomy' signs...it was quite humourous....Lance and I went up to BHSU to help them w/ GAP and we were called to the center of the display even if we were in the middle of a debate and notified that there was a bomb threat on campus.  we packed up safely and got out of there.  Luckily, nothing came of it....or that i'm aware of.  Please pray for those that thought they needed to go to those extreme lengths.  As Yellow Jackets for Life - BHSU prolife group - faculty advisor said we obviuosly got to them since they felt they had to threaten us with a bomb.

craziness

we've had 3 signs torn down on our campus...numerous vote yes yard signs vandalized and a shirt stolen and profanity strewn all over...hung on lances door.....crazy ppl out there....
